Sold Out Living 1 - Romans 12: 1-2

Listen: mp3

Jesus died for you; He lives for you. What does He ask from us in return?
He asks that we be like Him, that we be holy. (1 Peter 1: 16)
(Proverbs 3:6)
Paul is “begging” believers who are recipients of God’s “mercy” to hand ourselves over as slaves to God.

  • Who are you? (Genesis 2:7)
  • We shall be changed. (Phil. 3:20)
  • We must operate in the body we have now. (1 Corinthians 6:19)
    • It is the instrument through which our souls act.
    • It is the source of temptation and sin.
    • If you are saved, the Holy Spirit lives within you; (John 14:17)
  • You have a new nature controlled by the Holy Spirit.
  • You also have the old nature administered by Satan.
  • (Romans 8:23)

  • It will take an act of your will to live out of the Holy Spirit side.

If we think we can neglect presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice to God, we will find that we will fall into sin through the body and soon sin will reign over us.
Salvation is instantaneous; Lordship is a process.
God left enemies for the children of Israel to contend with; He does exactly the same with us. The “desires of the flesh and the mind” remain in us.
Everything that is in us is to bless His holy name. (Psalm 103:1)
