Recently as I was reading James 1:5, a new thought came to my mind. The verse begins, IF ANY OF YOU LACK WISDOM (practical discernment), LET HIM ASK OF GOD....When facing a decision or a trial, I have often prayed, "Lord, what would you have me do?" --or--"Please help me make the right choice."
As I read this verse, I realized that I needed to change the wording of my prayer. I am to ask for His wisdom. I am to be still and let Him impress upon my heart His wisdom, not mine.
Just the other day I was facing a rather troubling time and did not know what to do. I prayed for His wisdom and sat quietly and concentrated on our Lord. After a while in my spirit I heard my Father's words, "My child, just trust Me."
This brought peace to my soul because I truly knew that our Lord would work this concern out for my good and His glory. Pray for His wisdom. It is the best you can get.
